Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is about fifteen minutes from the 17-mile drive.
I fall in love with this place. What a great park! Stunning scenery and lots of wildlife.
Wildlife includes seals, sea lions, sea otters and migrating gray whales ( from December to May). Thousands of seabirds also make the reserve their home. Hiking trails follow the shoreline and lead to hidden coves. There are no words to describe the beauty of this place.
The coast is beautiful, the water is crystal clear. What else could you ask for?
This is an amazing park with many short and easy hiking trails.
Finally Rick Stevens quote: "Travel is freedom, trvael is intensified living..and travel is a life style."
