Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Big Basin is an absolutely amazing state park. I am glad that I made my first journey here, have done the 10.5 mile Berry Creek Falls trail. It is about 6 and 7 hours trail. The views on the sunset trail and skyline by the sea were fantastic, and hike itself was totally worth it for a view of the waterfall. Despite the drought season, we were so surprised to see the waterfalls were still active.
I love this place, lots of waterfalls, and the waterfalls were beautiful.

 good workout
 I feel so small
 trail
my feet hurt just before reaching to the waterfalls.
the drought has took its toll on many waterways, but these water falls were still pushing through beautifully. It's so touching.

land of medicine buddha

A hike that brings a little bit Tibet to the Santa Cruz Mountains. Land of medicine buddha, set amongst the coastal redwoods and the 100,00 acre Nicene Marks State Park.
We've done the loop around medicine buddha. It's a great hike to clear your head and get back to nature.
About a third of  the route is next to a creek, amid cool redwoods. This trail is almost entirely shady.

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Drove to 17-mile drive first. It was unfortunate we could not go through 17 mile due to the golf competition. They close the road all way through Pebble Beach during tournament.
Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is about fifteen minutes from the 17-mile drive.
I fall in love with this place. What a great park! Stunning scenery and lots of wildlife.
Wildlife includes seals, sea lions, sea otters and migrating gray whales ( from December to May). Thousands of seabirds also make the reserve their home. Hiking trails follow the shoreline and lead to hidden coves. There are no words to describe the beauty of this place.
The coast is beautiful, the water is crystal clear. What else could you ask for?
This is an amazing park with many short and easy hiking trails.

I have been here twice in  past 3 months and each time was a  different adventure.
The loop is the most popular path as it was so crowded. There are huge redwood trees alone this path.
The river trails provided funs  and train tracks added a mysterious touch to the trail.

It was gorgeous and water was so calm and pristine.
